Cellist Noemy Braun began at five, earned degrees from HEM Geneva/Lausanne, then moved to Montreal in 2015 to study at McGill’s Schulich School (with Matt Haimovitz). She has toured Europe and Canada, playing festivals from Festival du Monde Arabe to Paléo and with the Neuchâtel Symphony. Highlights: founding Comboïo (2017); albums Balkan Fragments (2018) and Águas with Alexandre Gismonti (2018); award-winning Levantine Rhapsody; co-founding Taraf Syriana (2020, charted 2022–23); and inventing a six-string “sestacorda” cello.
